A memorial service for Bernilda Schwarz will be held Thursday December 12th at 12:00 noon at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. Ennichement, at a later date, will be at the columbarium of Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Mrs. Schwarz, 88, of Rochester, died Saturday December 7, 2013 at Golden Living Center East in Rochester, where she had recently been residing.
Bernilda Eileen Greeter was born April 4, 1925 in Millville. She was the daughter of Leonard and Augusta Greeter. Raised in Millville, she was a graduate of Elgin High School. Over the years, she worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, and beautician. She married Edward G. Wilson in October 1943, and the couple later divorced. On August 3, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nevada, she married Richard Schwarz. Bernilda enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she also enjoyed camping, cooking, gardening, yard work, short trips, and playing cribbage. She will be remembered for her wit. She was a member of the Elks' and the Eagles' Lodges.
She is survived by her sons, Edward (Sharon) Wilson, and Todd Schwarz, both of Rochester; daughters, Judith Bader of Rochester, Jill (Richard) Lueck of Medina, and Cathy (Daniel) Swenningson of Rochester; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in March, a great-granddaughter, and two sisters.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
