Berniece Moe

Berniece L. Moe age 93 of Zumbrota died Wednesday January 10, 2007 at the Zumbrota Nursing Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at Land?s Lutheran Church with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 12 Noon until 1:30 P.M. at the church. Berniece Lenora Shelstad was born on October 1, 1913 in Roscoe Township, Goodhue County, MN to Nelberg and Magna (nee Dybvad) Shelstad. She grew up on the farm and attended Bringgold School in Roscoe Township through the eighth grade. On October 17, 1934 she married Milford Moe at Lands Lutheran Church. They made their home in the Pine Island and Zumbrota area. Berniece worked at several restaurants in Rochester, the Zumbrota Bakery and was a homemaker. Berniece loved her church and was an active member of Lands Lutheran Church. She was very involved in the Women of Lands Quilting Group; she taught Sunday school for thirty-three years and sang in the choir for many years. Berniece is survived by her daughter, Marjean (Jerry) Nelson of Zumbrota, two grandchildren, Corey (Patty) Nelson of Cannon Falls and Michon Nelson of Eden Prairie, two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband Milford, an infant daughter, grandson, Craig Nelson and four brothers, Norman, Palmer, Glenford and Benroy Shelstad. The family suggests memorials to the Lands Lutheran Church Choir. Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
