Bernice Elizabeth Voth, 92 of Goodhue, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born March 9, 1916 in Goodhue to Johannes and Anna (Rehder) Matthees. She married Raynold Voth on June 1, 1940 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Goodhue. They lived and farmed in the Goodhue area for many years before moving to Goodhue in 1997. Raynold died January 15, 2007. She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was active in the ladies aid. She was also a member of the Home Extension Group and a past member of the Goodhue Seniors. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by five sons, Charles (Carol) Voth of Goodhue, Roger (Beverly) Voth of Zumbrota, Norris (Carolyn) Voth, Marcus (Corrine) Voth and Kevin Voth all of Goodhue; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilbert Matthees of Goodhue and two sisters, Doris Matthees and Elda Augustine both of Goodhue. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two brothers, Gordon and Milton Matthees; a sister, Gertrude Stemmann.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Goodhue with Rev. Andrew Krause officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert, Joel, Grant, Landon, Stephen and Derek Voth. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church and for one hour prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
