Bernice I. Beulke 86, of Wanamingo, died Monday, August 3, 2015 at Zumbrota Health Services in Zumbrota.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo with Pastor Christopher Culuris officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 4:30 to 8:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bernice Ione Sell was born on May 8, 1929, in St. Paul, MN, to Erwin and Louise (nee Trapp) Sell. She grew up in Eagan, and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1947. On September 8, 1948 she married Elroy Beulke at Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran Church. They farmed in Eagan for nineteen years before moving to Wanamingo in 1967. They farmed south of town before moving into Wanamingo in 1994. Bernice was active in the St. Paul Farmers Market up until 2010. Bernice enjoyed sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles, cooking, canning and gardening. She was an active member of Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Elroy of Wanamingo; children, Norm (Helen) Beulke of Castle Rock, Co., Mel (Diane) Beulke of Bloomington, Linda (Birdeen) Thoreson of Wanamingo, Ken (Vickie) Beulke of Woodbury, and Jim (Susie) Beulke of Wanamingo; grandchildren, Niki (Dan) Testa, Catherine (Don) Gallagher, Matt (Tami) Thoreson, Andy (Nicole) Thoreson, Tim (Michelle) Thoreson, Stacy (George) Joyer, Craig (Amanda) Theis, Dan Theis, Ellyn Beulke and Jack Beulke; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Sell of St. Paul; sisters, Evelyn Glaser of Chaska, Sandra Herme of Rosemount and Virginia Rohne of Lyle; and sister-in-law, Janet Sell of Inver Grove Heights; many nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Gene.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
