Bernard Lee Goodman, 79 of Arden Hills and formerly of Red Wing, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at the Presbyterian Home in Arden Hills. He was born on December 14, 1928, in Omaha, Nebraska to Byron and Zada (Whitehead) Goodman. He graduated from South High in Omaha in 1946 and then listed in the US Army serving from September 30, 1946 until 1948 when he was discharged. In 1953 he graduated from University of Nebraska and later received his Masters Degree in social work from the University of Nebraska. He worked for the Department of Corrections in Red Wing and Twin Cities for 10 years and then was a social worker for the Minneapolis Schools, retiring in 1988.
Survivors include one sister, Laura (Robert) Enz of Shoreview and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Byron Goodman.
Memorial service was held at the Presbyterian Home in Arden Hills. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 21, at Burnside Cemetery with Rev. Eugene Hasselquist officiating. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
