Bernard Dammann

Bernard Frederick Dammann, 78, Red Wing, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at his home. He was born October 2, 1932 in Red Wing, the son of Frederick and Hazel (Larson) Dammann. He graduated from Red Wing High School in 1950. He worked for National Bushing and then served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge he began working for Smead's Manufacturing in Hastings, retiring in 1994. He then worked part-time for Stinson Trailer Sales and Red Wing Implement. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and he enjoyed electronics, motorcycles, photography and visiting with people.

Survivors include cousins, Donald (Ina) Dammann and David (JoAnn) Dammann, all of Red Wing, Darrel (Phyllis) Dammann of Tulsa, OK and Tom Zabel of Plainview along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be 11 a. m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Gary Elg officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church or the American Cancer Society.
