ROCHESTER A prayer service for Bernadette McPhee will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel.
Bernadette, age 79, of Rochester, died Sunday (Jan. 10, 2010) at St. Mary's Hospital from cancer.
Bernadette Josephine McPhee was born July 28, 1930 in Ward Springs, Minnesota, to Mike L. and Elizabeth (Mehrwerth) Albers. She attended Eagle Bend High School in Eagle Bend, Minnesota. On September 6, 1952 she married William G. McPhee in Wilton, MN, they were later divorced. She lived in the upper mid-west before moving to Byron, MN in 1962, and to Rochester in 1972. Bernadette worked at the Holiday Inn South in Rochester for 28 years in housekeeping and laundry. She enjoyed her family, friends, crocheting, sewing, baking, jig saw puzzles, and reading.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy (Linda) of Byron; Tom of Rochester; and Phil (Kim), of Byron; three daughters, Kathleen (Fred) Muenkel of Pepin, WI; Patricia (Duane) Rucker of Buckeye, AZ; and Mary (Bob) Johnson of Rochester; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren; her sister, Beatrice Boss of Bemidji, MN; three brothers, Victor Albers of Bemidji; Bob (Judy) of Bothell, WA; and Cyril (Marie) Albers of Renton, WA. Her parents, Mike and Elizabeth Albers, three grandchildren, Frances and Darin McPhee, and Mark Muenkel preceded her in death.
Friends may call one hour before the service, and a reception will be held following the service at the funeral home.
