Benjie Cox Knox, formerly a resident of Whitewater, Wisconsin, has died at the age of 94. She was the beloved mother of Pamela, Benjie Jane, and Patricia, and the wife of Dr. A. Randolph Knox, who preceded her in death. Born in 1919, she was the only child of Ben and Beulah Briggs, who were farmers in Memphis, Missouri. She met and married her future husband in Kirksville, Missouri at the age of 19. The couple eventually settled in Whitewater, where Dr. Knox established a medical practice, and they raised their 3 daughters.
Her family will remember her for her extraordinary spirit, her intelligence and quest to learn, her wonderful sense of humor, and her love of music. She filled our home with beauty, love, and nurturance.
Over the past two years, Benjie resided at Deer Crest Memory Care, in Red Wing, MN. Her daughters were with her at her death. She is also survived by her loving sons-in-law, Jim Ricciardi and Chap Achen, her "surrogate" daughter, Edee Hares, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
