Benjamin “Beau” Merrill Ogden, 33, of Red Wing and formerly of Puyallup, Washington, died Friday Oct 20, 2023, with his family by his side, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, due to complications from his gunshot wound on March 12, 2022.
Beau was a proud father to his 3 boys: Haiven (10), Kai (7)and Damien (5 ) all of Washington. They were his world and reason for living--he loved them more than anything.
Beau was a warrior! Following his spinal cord injury he showed the world the warrior he was by overcoming obstacle after obstacle; he conquered the odds that were stacked against him.
His sense of humor was like none other. Most typically you'd see that devious twinkle in his bright big blue eyes and his most infectious smile. Family and friends were the cornerstones and pillars of his life. If he liked you, you knew it.
Beau enjoyed spending time with his children, family, friends and listening to music.
Beau was a hero. In his final days in this world, he was able to become an organ donor. This was something he felt strongly about. He would have been so proud to know this happened and to know his legacy is living on.
He is survived by parents, John Ogden of Red Wing and Emiley (Jerry) Peterson of Puyallup, WA; his 3 boys, Haiven, Kai and Damien; grandparents, Katy and Merrill Bjorngaard of Red Wing; 3 brothers, Jeret, Justin and Nyk all of Washington and numerous other family.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the St. Mary's ICU care staff, the sugical staff and Life-Source for their cares and comforts during this time.
Celebration of Life for Beau will be at the Jimmy/Oak Room on the fifth floor of the St. James Hotel in Red Wing on Sunday, Oct. 22 from1-3 p.m. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
