Benjamin David Anderson, age 32 of Lake City, passed away tragically on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
Ben was born March 2, 1981 in South St. Paul, MN. He attended Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights. He joined the Army in 2001 and was discharged in 2005 after serving as Corporal in the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment. He was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. After being discharged he returned to Minnesota. He married Shavon Danckwart July 14, 2007 in Inver Grove Heights. They moved to Lake City in 2008. Ben worked at Horizon Milling and Federal Mogul of Lake City. He was currently working at S.B. Foot Tanning Company in Red Wing. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his children. He was an avid sports fan and loved fitness, video games, music, reading, writing and peanut M&Ms. He was an intelligent, romantic, strong, passionate man and will be missed by so many.
Ben is survived by his wife and love of his life, Shavon of Lake City; three children who will keep him in their hearts forever: Kylee (Burr), Drake and Garrett; Mother Janice Joblinski of St. Paul; a brother, James Anderson; two sisters, Heather (Jill) Schepman, Jodi (Brian) Miller; five nieces; Chloe, Zoie, Temperance, Taeryn, Adelyn; a nephew Jaxson; and brother in-law Kyle (Tami) Richardson.
A Celebration of Ben's Life will be held Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City with the Rev. Scott Fiege officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. There will be a meal provided at the VFW, Lake City, following the service.
