Beatrice Irene Grab, age 95, formerly of Red Wing, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Plum City Care Center. She was born on July 7, 1912, in rural Plum City, Wisconsin, to C. Richard and Mary (Carlson) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in the Plum City area. She married Joseph "Aloys" Grab on July 15, 1930, at the Mission Church parsonage in Red Wing. They lived and farmed on his family farm in Maiden Rock. He died on July 26, 1972, and she moved to Red Wing in March of 1973. She worked as a nurse's aide at St John's Hospital until retiring, and then worked for Braschler's Bakery for a couple more years. She had lived in her own home until the age of 92, when she moved to the care center. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, and Oatmeal buns were her specialty--"No one made them like Mom!"

Survivors include four children, Ralph (Betty) Grab of Maiden Rock, Ruby (James) Bjurquist of Tacoma, Washington, Sharon (Leo Odden) Anderson of Plum City, and Sandra (Richard) Kleiner of Foxboro, Wisconsin; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Doris Johnson of Nekoosa, Wisconsin. Preceding her in death were her husband; one son, Robert; two brothers, Clarence and Edgar Johnson; and one son-in-law, Allan Anderson,

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at First Presbyterian Church in Red Wing, with Reverend Gary Elg officiating. Burial will be in Lund Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the time of services Tuesday at the church.
