Barbara Joan Wheeler
March 6, 1933 — February 4, 2020
Barb was born March 6, 1933 to Everett and Alice Godfrey at St Marys Hospital in Rochester. She died February 4, 2020 at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home. She is survived by her husband Lyle (Skip) Wheeler and her sister Sharon Boelter. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Delores Howery.
Barb was true blue, especially to her husband Skip. She stood by her husband's side even when he was wrong, or really wrong.
Barb was very honest and polite. A woman of integrity.
She loved Skip, dogs, travel and music.
Barb graduated from John Marshall High School in 1951. She worked at Daytons, Krenlo and IBM as a secretary. She helped keep IBM secure in their work.
Barb said she couldn't have kids so she had dogs. One year she even got a Mother's Day card from her dogs. She cared for many dogs over her lifetime and a few squirrels. Pekinese was her favored breed.
Barb traveled to every State of the Union with her husband Skip. Yosemite, Yellowstone and Bryce Canyon were highlights.
A celebration of life will be held in Barb's honor at the Chapel in Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home on February 19th at 1:30pm
