Barbara Ann Sanford

Barbara Ann Sanford, 65, of Welch, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 6, 1948, in Hastings, to Floyd and Dora (Furney) Soderquist. She attended schools in Hastings and on April 8, 1965, she married Ronald Sanford. They lived in Hastings and Illinois before settling near Welch. She worked at Smead's Manufacturing in Hastings and for many years at the Republican Eagle in the mailroom. She also would babysit for many family and friends. Her family recalls how she she enjoyed cooking, quilting, crocheting and all the love she provided for her family and her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald; four children, Dennis (fiancé Bobbie Jo) Sanford, Steven (Deb) Sanford and Daryl ( Shilo Nadja) Sanford all of Red Wing and Melissa (Gerald) Dobbs of Kenyon; 10 grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Mikayla, Jenna, Anthony, Justin, Alyha, Jasalynn, Brendan and Kaysie; three great grandchildren, Dawson, Zaylie and Jaxson; brother, Donald Soderquist of Bixby, OK; sister, Judy (Lyle) Linnell od Welch; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 14 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Heather Cullures officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Lake City. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service.
