Barbara Jean (Lohrbach) Rauvola

Barbara “Barb” Jean Rauvola, 70, of Zumbrota, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, November 29, 2020; she passed away peacefully at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.

Barb was born May 20, 1950 to Donald and Rosemarie (Maxson) Lohrbach in Rochester. She grew up in Mantorville and graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 1968.

Barb worked as a Registered Nurse at Mayo Clinic and retired after 37 years of service.  She is remembered as a compassionate caregiver who shared a level of grace, strength and character that taught you to become a better person. She continued care providing beyond retirement as she gracefully and steadfastly provided comfort, unwavering love and support for her husband and love of a lifetime, Jerry.  Barb radiated positivity and joy regardless of any life challenge.

She was a long time member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Barb enjoyed antiquing, crafting, fishing, hunting and spending time at the cabin.  She also had a deep appreciation for spending time with her children, grandchildren and family.

She is survived by her children, Holli (John) Hopkins of Montana, Heidi (Jim) Amari of Montana, Nicky (Mike) Schwenker of Rochester, Erin (Scott) Logan of Zumbrota and Derek Dougherty of Rochester; grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Kate, Sophia, Alexander, Vienna and Marlie; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Samuel and Eleanor; father, Donald Lohrbach; brothers, Brad (Sue) Lohrbach and Brian (Rebecca) Lohrbach; many nieces and nephews; and beloved friend and “sista”, Janet Ofstie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Rauvola; mother, Rosemarie Lohrbach; and infant brothers Randy and Ronnie.
