Barbara Moore Moulton

A memorial service for Barbara M. Moulton will be 10:00 a.m Thursday at Madonna Towers Nursing Care Chapel with the Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville, FL. Ms. Moulton of Rochester, a former Associate Director of Nursing at Rochester Methodist Hospital died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at Madonna Towers.
Barbara Moore Moulton was born Oct. 8, 1926 in Brockton, Mass. and later moved to Jacksonville, Fla. where she graduated from high school. She attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Jacksonville and worked at St. Luke's Hospital as a registered nurse. She received her BSN ED degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee in 1965. She moved to Pittsburgh, PA where she received her MSN ED degree in nursing and worked at the Magee Women's Hospital as Director of Nursing until 1976, when she moved to Rochester. She worked as the Associate Director of Nursing for obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics at the Rochester Methodist Hospital until her retirement in 1988. After retirement she moved back to Jacksonville, Fla. In 1998 she returned to Rochester and resided at Madonna Towers. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, and volunteered with the children's bell choir. Barb was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, USA, and was active in the River Trails Girl Scouts. She enjoyed crafts, camping, the outdoors, reading and travel.
Survivors include a nephew Jeffery L. (Karen) Shelton, a niece Margaret (Thomas) Dixon, and close friends Pat and Jerry Hrabe of Rochester. Her parents, her sister, and her brother preceded her in death.
Memorials are suggested to Christ United Methodist Church, the Madonna Towers Foundation, or a charity of the donor's choice.
