Barbara A. Hinrichs, age 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 27, 2009 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.
Barbara Ann Meyer was born March 29, 1948 to Greg and Blanche (nee Lembcke) Meyer at the family farm house in West Concord. She graduated from high school in 1966. She married Roger Hinrichs on October 22, 1966 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Zumbrota. Barbara enjoyed gardening, going to the cabin that she and Roger built, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and going to the casino. She was known for her love for others, especially in their times of need.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Roger; son, Steven (Paulette) Hinrichs of Zumbrota; daughter, Melissa (Nick) Stolp of Elk River; four grandchildren, Ryan, Georgia, Gabi and Griffin Hinrichs; three brothers, Jerry Meyer of West Concord, Darrel Meyer and Mike (Brenda) Meyer all of Zumbrota; sister, Lyla (Norb) Ira of Fort Atkinson, IA; brother-in-law, Den Grant of Chaska; sister-in-law Pat Meyer of Goodhue; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sandra Grant; brother, Lyle Meyer; and sister-in-law, Irma Meyer.
The family suggests memorials to be directed to the American Cancer Society.
