Barbara F. Barry, 82, Red Wing, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Fairview Seminary Home. She was born February 11, 1929 in Regensburg, Germany, the daughter of Josef and Rosalie (Eckmann) Pregler. She attended schools and graduated in Germany. She married Joseph Barry on February 5, 1947 and they moved to the United States in 1948. They lived in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and moved to Red Wing in 1962. She worked at Red Wing Shoe Company for many years until retirement. Joseph died January 23, 1990. She was a member of the Church of Saint Joseph, she enjoyed the outdoors, going to the cabin in Hayward, Wis., traveling spending time with her grandchildren and having coffee years ago at the The Pantry. Her passion was weeding her garden.

Survivors include two sons; Harald Barry of New Richmond, WI and Dennis (Marilyn) Barry of New York Mills; four granddaughters: Monica Gehlen of Woodbury, Angelique (Jason) Young of River Falls, WI, Lisa (James) Richards of Minneapolis and Jennifer Barry of Duluth; five great-grandchildren: Nathan and Nicholas Gehlen, Alexis and Jarett Young and Makayla Richards; one sister, Erna Nelson of Red Wing; one brother, Sepp Pregler of Germany; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Barry; three sisters and one great-grandson.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Church of Saint Joseph with Father Thomas Kommers presiding. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial are preferred t o the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
