Ava Cleone Thompson

Ava Cleone (Morkin) Thompson, 87, passed away on July 23, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Ellsworth. She was born on August 26, 1931 to Leo and Ava (Hedleson) Morkin. She married Duane Thompson in 1950. They later divorced.
She loved to read, go on rides to Red Wing with her brother, Elwood and his wife, Gail. She loved to feed the birds and cats on the farm and listen to old-time gospel music while rocking in her rocking chair.
She is survived by her 5 children; Connie of Eagan, Gene of Seguin, Texas, Wendy of Ellsworth, Lynn of Bay City, and Randy of Diamond Bluff; 3 grandchildren, Dustin, Victoria and Jenna; one great-grandson, Dexter; two sisters, Meg of Inver Grove Heights and Dixie of Beaumont, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Elwood and sister-in-law, Gail.
A private family service will be held.
