Arvilla ?Charlotte? Karlsrude, 90, of Red Wing died Saturday, May 20, 2006 at St. Brigid?s at Hi-Park. She was born on January 31, 1916 in Red Wing to Victor and Emma (Swanson) Gustafson. She graduated from Central High School and then worked a number of years for Citizens Security. On October 10, 1953 she married Gilbert Karlsrude in Red Wing. They lived in South St. Paul where she worked during the tax season for the State of Minnesota. Gilbert died in May of 1989. Later that year she moved back to Red Wing. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, nature, camping, playing cards and entertaining and traveling. Incidentally, in 2001 she went white water rafting in Alaska. Survivors include six nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three sisters, Frances Gustafson, Harriet Green and Yolanda Kasa and two brothers, Vernon and Kenneth Gustafson. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church Chapel with Rev. Brian Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Fairview Red Wing Hospice, First Lutheran Church or donor?s choice.
