Arnold Troth

December 11, 2025 — October 18, 2010

Arnold Troth, age 84, of Red Wing, Minnesota, formerly of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and Monessen, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 18, 2010. Arnold was born on December 11, 1925, in Monessen, PA to Karl and Marie (Sabo) Troth. He was the third youngest of fourteen children. He grew up in Monessen. After school he enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII. On August 5, 1950 he was united in marriage to Rose Karjala at the Cathedral of St. Paul.
Arnold is survived by his wife Rose of Red Wing, and children; Daniel (Lynn) Troth of Houston, Doug (Kitty) Troth of Las Vegas, Debbie (Tom) Hansen of Hudson, Mara Troth (Dan Wolfe) of Minneapolis, Mark Troth of Pittsburgh, Marlyse Troth Steffen (Dan Ellis) of San Diego, Jo Ellen (Gary) Heiting of Stillwater, and Jo Anne (Doug) Hale of Oak Grove, and grandchildren, Shon, Jason, Brandon, Stephanie, Matthew, Jared, Sam, Kelsey, Eli, Tommy, Timothy, Marta, and great grandchildren, Zoya, Olivia, Gabriella, and two more on the way; two sisters, Mary Ann Simkanich and Mildred Gibson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.
Arnold lived to have his family gathered around him. He always had a joke to tell. If you didn't like the joke, he just assumed you didn't get it. He had the gift of music, and he could toot the trumpet. He passed these gifts on to his children in every way. It brought incredible joy to his heart to watch "jam sessions" in his home.
Arnold had an incredibly creative mind that was evident in the areas of art and engineering. He loved to create gifts, from brainteasers to ice fishing pop-ups. He also created decorative metal sculptures and unique jewelry for sale at art fairs.
He gave his all to his job at Unisys, where he received several commendations in his 32 years of service and was highly respected by his colleagues.
His life is summed up in his love for his family, and his undying desire to see family together, cared for, and happy.
