Arnold L. Tomforde

Arnold "Arnie" Leslie Tomforde went to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Care Center in Lake City.
Arnie was born on July 2, 1927, to Louis and Christena (Roschen) Tomforde at their home in rural Lake City. He attended St. John's Lutheran School and Lincoln High School in Lake City. On June 10, 1947, he married Margie Musolf at St John's.
During his lifetime, Arnie was a paper carrier, farm worker on several farms, and a grocery store employee. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at a packing plant, a louver factory, and Tennant & Hoyt flour mill. He was a machine operator and later a programmer at DiAcro in Lake City and Washington Scientific in Owatonna. When he retired, he was an industrial engineer at Valley Craft in Lake City.
Arnie loved spending time with his family, playing cards, taking driving trips, walking, baking, dancing, and doing yard work. Being involved with his church was a very important part of his life.
Arnie is survived by daughters, Cheryl (Gene) Glander, Patricia Morrow, Gayle (Wally) Siewert, son Ralph (Rosie) Tomforde, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and special friend, Helen Rich.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margie, son Donald, brothers Emory and William Tomforde, sisters Henrietta Howatt, LuVonna Lichtblau, and Irma Dose.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, April 10, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Rev. John Berg officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 9, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City and one hour prior to the service at church. The burial will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyhome.com
