Funeral services for Arnold Roth will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Roth, 77, of Rochester, died Friday September 4, 2009 at Charter House.
Arnold Gerhardt Roth was born November 13, 1931 in Rochester. A graduate of Rochester High School with the Class of 1951, he worked as a busboy at the Kahler Hotel during his high school years. Following graduation he entered the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. Returning stateside in 1954, he attended drafting college and moved to California. He married Mildred McLane on September 3, 1966 in Ventura, California. Mr. Roth worked for the city of Ventura as a draftsman. Then, in Los Angeles's Century City, he ran the print shop and mailroom for a mortgage broker. Later, he was employed by the Westwood Hotel in Westwood Village, California. In retirement, he and his wife continued residing in California until 2002, at which time they moved to the Charter House in Rochester.
Mr. Roth is a member of the Korean War Veterans and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Roth, of Rochester; two stepchildren, Janet Martin and Scott McLane; two step-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; and four sisters, LaVerne Thompson of Red Wing, Leida (Darwin) Dingfelder of Rochester, Esther (Roger) Price of White Bear Lake, and Alice (Jack) Coggins of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Amanda Roth; and a brother, Sydney Roth.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choosing.
