Arley Jerome Huber

Arley Jerome Huber, 91, of Red Wing, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Red Wing. He was born February 2, 1922, in Hartland Township, Wisconsin to
Clarence and Stella (Schmidt) Huber and graduated from Ellsworth High School. He served in the US Navy from 1942-1948. On June 10, 1949, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Krier on his parent's farm. They moved to Red Wing in 1951. He attended school for construction and had worked as a building superintendant for Christ Keller, Dean Witcher and Loffel and Engstrand Construction Companies, retiring in 1984. Eleanor died July 1, 2009. Arley was a 50-plus year member of First Presbyterian Church, serving in a number of capacities over the years. He was also a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54, Burnson-Lillyblad VFW #1218, serving as past commander at both; and the Red Wing Masonic and Shriner clubs. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening and canning.

He is survived by two daughters, Judith (Roger)Kjome and Susan Huber both of Red Wing; two grandchildren, Rebecca (Jim) Walter of Hortenville, Wis., and Eric (Tara) Kjome of Elmhurst, Ill.; five grandchildren, Nick (Sadie Baha) Loberger, Madi Walter, Lexi Walter, Lauren Kjome and Kaitlyn Kjome; one great-great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Loberger; one brother, David (Phyllis) Huber of Woodbury; many nieces and nephews and his cat, Lola. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor; one sister, Mary Huber and three brothers, Vincent, Leland and Donald.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Dr. David Reiter officiating. Burial with military honors by the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54 will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a 7p.m. Legion prayer service followed by a Masonic service. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church or donor's choice.
