Arleen A. Holey, age 93, passed away peacefully, on December 13th, 2024. Born June 9, 1931, in Red Wing, MN, to William and Clara (Muhlman) Huebner, Arleen lived a life defined by faith, family, and service to others.
Arleen was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Hay Creek and attended its parochial school. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1949 and from St. Lucas Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Faribault in 1952. Her compassion for others led her to a rewarding career in nursing.
On October 30, 1953, Arleen married Milton Holey, and in 1957, they moved to Dodge Center, MN. Arleen worked at the University of Minnesota before joining the Rochester State Hospital, where she served in the operating room until its closure in 1981. She later worked as the Nursing Supervisor at the Kahler Hotel, retiring from nursing in 1983.
A woman of deep faith, Arleen was a charter member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Byron, where she held numerous church council positions and served as secretary for many years. She was also active in the Women's Mission Society.
In her free time, Arleen enjoyed bowling, knitting, camping, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Arleen is survived by her sons, David of Kasson and Michael (Jackie) of Eagan; grandsons Charles (Emily) of Richfield and Nathan of Eagan; great-grandchildren Ian and Abigail; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents; a brother; and two sisters.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 923 2nd Ave. NW, Byron, MN, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will take place afterward.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
Arleen's kindness and devotion to her loved ones will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
