Ardith Elaine Latcham

October 13, 1922 — March 21, 2012

Ardith Elaine Latcham, 89, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, March 21, at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born Oct. 13, 1922 in Salem Township, Wisconsin to Ellsworth and Ella (Meyer) Hague. She graduated from Plum City High School and attended the Minneapolis Business College and the Commerce School of Business in San Francisco, California. She married Charles Latcham on April 12, 1952 at First United Methodist Church in Ono, Wisconsin, where she grew up. She worked in Washington DC for the US Treasury Department, in Los Angeles, California for the US Corps of Engineers and in San Francisco, California for the Veterans Administration, later transferring to the VA at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. She was employed at Minneapolis Honeywell and worked on large presses and had special training to wire pilot control boxes for B-17's, B-26 and B29 bombers during WW II. In Red Wing, she worked at the Farmers Store in the cashier's office for 3 ½ years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a long-time member of the YMCA. She enjoyed swimming, bicycling and traveling.

Ardith is survived by her husband, Charles of Red Wing; 2 daughters, Diana (Loren) Brusehaver and Barbara Latcham both of Inver Grove Heights; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Myrna Lind of Cottage Grove and one brother, Ivan Hague of Menomonie, Wisc.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Fortner and two brothers, Vincent and Neville Hague.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Strunk officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church or American Heart Association
