Ardelle Ruble

Ardelle Lois Ruble, 93, formerly of Red Wing, died Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the Episcopal Church Home in St. Paul. She was born November 25, 1922, in Rock Elm, Wisconsin, to Earl and Nellie (Turner) Vann. Her family moved to Red Wing, where she graduated from high school in 1940 and went on to attend teacher's training. She taught in a one-room school house prior to marrying her husband, John Thomas Ruble, on July 7, 1943. They made their home in Red Wing where she and John raised their five children. John died in 1995. Ardelle was a member of First Covenant Church and for many years had been a member at First Baptist Church. She was an excellent Scrabble player and enjoyed people and making pies.

She is survived by 3 children, Richard (Beth Ann) Ruble of Webster, Wis., Judith (Norman) Mett of Vero Beach, Fla., and Heidi (Erick) Carlson of St. Paul; grandchildren, Kristin, Todd, Jeff, Steve, Buena, Andrew, Anton, Chelsey, Shannon, John, Ada and Albin; 24 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Debbie Enloe and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John; 2 sons, Thomas and Grant Ruble; 2 daughters-in-law, Toni and Beverly Ruble; 2 sisters, Georgia Gustafson and Joyce Erickson; a brother, Hale Vann and a granddaughter, Nissi.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at First Covenant Church. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
