Ardelle Lillian Johnson, 78 of Lake City, died Thursday, July 11, 2013. She was born June 12, 1935 in Lake City, daughter of Gerald and Pearl (Coudrey) Heck. She grew up and attended Lincoln High School in Lake City graduating in 1953. She attended college where she earned her degree as a Medical Technician. She worked in Anoka at the Moak Clinic as a Medical Technician. On February 10, 1954, she married J. David Johnson in Lake City. They lived in the Twin Cities for a short time until moving back to Lake City in 1959. Ardelle and David owned and operated the A&W Root Beer Stand until 1985 when they retired. She was an avid outdoorswoman.
She is survived by her husband, J. David Johnson of Lake City; two sons, David (Karen) Johnson of Lake Mills, WI and Brad Johnson of Coon Rapids, MN; three grandchildren, Nathan, Hannah and Theodore Johnson; one sister, Carmen (Jack) Edwards of Red Wing; one nephew, Mark Edwards and one niece, Jackie Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one nephew, Brett Edwards.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City with the Rev. Darren Paulson officiating. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City is handling the services.
