A memorial visitation will be held for Antonin Sebesta on Saturday April 28th at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.
Mr. Sebesta, 80, of Rochester, died Wednesday April 25, 2012 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Antonin Sebesta was born October 9, 1931 in Susice, Czechoslovakia, the son of Antonin and Anna (Rendl) Sebesta. Raised in Czechoslovakia, he moved to the United States in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served at Fort Bragg in North Carolina from 1952 to 1954. Honorably discharged, he entered college in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and then in 1957 he married Helga Richters in Chicago, and became employed with IBM in Endicott, New York. He moved to Rochester, Minnesota in 1968, and continued his career with IBM until his retirement in 1992.
Mr. Sebesta is survived by his wife, Helga Sebesta, of Rochester; two sons, Michael (Wendy) Sebesta of Rochester, and Mark (Bobbi) Sebesta of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; two daughters, Kirsten (John Dougherty) Sebesta of Moorhead, Minnesota, and Linda (Matthew Hawkins) Sebesta of Rochester; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Elisabeth, Ben, and Max Sebesta, and Alex and Erik Dougherty. A brother, Rudolf (Vera) Sebesta, of Prague, in the Czech Republic, also survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Karel Sebesta.
