Pfc Anthony "Tony" Hebert age 19 of Lake City died June 21, 2007 in Baghdad, Iraq.
Tony was born June 30, 1987 in Elgin, IL to Bob & Laurie (Klinnert) Hebert. Tony graduated in 2005 from Lincoln High School in Lake City. He was active in sports and was a member of the Lake City Golf Team. He enjoyed participating in the Building Trades Program in high school. After graduation Tony entered the Army and was a member of the 1/26th Infantry Unit. After basic training Tony was stationed in Germany and was deployed to Iraq in August of 2006. Tony was an avid golfer and enjoyed hanging out with his friends. After Tony completed his military career, he was looking forward to a career in Firefighting or Law Enforcement.
Tony is survived by his parents, Bob & Laurie; two sisters Erin & Tiffany Hebert of Lake City; paternal grandmother Sue Hebert of Elgin, IL; maternal grandparents, Robert & Emma Klinnert of Wabasha. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Phillip Hebert.
Funeral Services will be held Monday July 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City at 11:00 am with Father James Russell officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the "Tony Hebert Memorial Fund", that is at the Lake City Federal Bank. Pallbearers will be Aaron Breyfogle, Mike Harkins, Cody Blair and Cole Waller.
