Annette Fay Struckmann, age 59, physically left us to fly to heaven on November 22, 2024.
Annette, the only daughter to Gary and Sandra Struckmann, was born on January 29, 1965, in Woodland, CA. Annette and the growing Struckmann family moved back to Pine Island, MN when she was three years old. There she attended Pine Island schools.
Annette welcomed her daughter Sara Lee right after high school and her son Michael Scott about 4 years later. Annette loved her children, dogs, and being a stay-at-home Mom. She worked continuously to provide her children with a clean environment to grow and learn in. She was very proud of this and of them.
Once her kids were old enough, she went into the workforce and boy did she participate!! Annette spent 26 years in the food service department at Willow Creek Middle School in Rochester, MN. She thoroughly enjoyed talking with the children as they went through her line and watched their delight at an extra treat a time or two! During these same years, she also worked in the housekeeping department at Apache Mall in Rochester. She always found time, while keeping her area spic and span, to greet regular/occasional shoppers, family and friends as they came upon her while strolling through the mall. The birth of her granddaughter Seirra occurred during this busy period. Annette made time for snuggling, playing and dancing to music, teaching her how to cook and of course, how to clean. This time with Sierra was so special. Annette also loved animals, but she had a special bond with dogs. She would give them her attention and then they would be stuck to her like glue!
Annette had been courageously battling early onset Alzheimer's disease for many years prior to her flight to be with the Lord. During her struggle, Alzheimer's could not take away Annette's love to laugh, her special bond with dogs, her love of soft pretty things, and the knowledge that her son Michael was her constant warrior. True to herself, she was always busy until her passing.
Annette is survived by her son, Michael; daughter, Sara; mother, Sandra; granddaughter, Seirra; brothers, Phil (Kathy), Fred (Stacy), Matt; many nieces and nephews.
Annette was preceded in death by her father, Gary; brother, Dennis; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Thank you to all who cared for Annette during her time of need. Thank you for your compassion, empathy, patience, and understanding.
We would especially like to thank the staff at Chicos Board and Lodge in West Concord for the care they provided in the middle of her journey. Barb and Jodie, notably not only for the care you provided but for the little things you did to make her feel special, like brushing, braiding and putting bows in her beautiful long red hair. Your gracious efforts to make her feel special did not go unnoticed and we thank you.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Pine Island United Methodist Church with an hour of visitation prior.
Interment will follow the service at Pine Island Cemetery.
