Annes Voth

d. December 24, 2007

Annes Marie Voth, 89, of Red Wing, died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born October 2, 1917 in Seward, Nebraska to Frank and Emilia (Lage) Block. She graduated from high school in Ulysses, Nebraska in 1935 and then moved to Red Wing to attend St. John?s School of Nursing. In 1940, she received her degree as a Registered Nurse. She married Clarence Voth on August 31, 1941 in Ulysses and they farmed in Featherstone Township until moving to Red Wing in 1977. She was originally a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church and then she and Clarence became one of the founding families of Concordia Lutheran Church. She had then been a member of Hay Creek Immanuel Lutheran and was currently a member at St. John?s. As an RN, she especially like working with newborns and always said she had wanted a dozen kids of her own. She made it half-way to her goal, as mother of one son and five daughters. She was interested in everything, made friends easily, loved music and was a gardener, painter and quilter. Following the death of her husband in July of 1996, she lived the past nine years in an apartment on the 9th floor of Fairview Seminary Plaza where she enjoyed watching the changing colors of the bluffs. She looked for and saw beauty everywhere. She is survived by five children, Annette (Paul) Bacon of Skokie, IL, Marty (Althea) of Red Wing, Kathryn Clements of Cannon Falls, Ellie (Bob Young) Voth of Yantis, TX, and Bev Hannon of Eagan; son-in-law, Gerhard Trittin of Hankinson, ND; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and one nephew, Paul (Marsha) Naher of Kansas City, KA. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Carol Trittin; sister, Emily Naher and a son-in-law, Mark Hannon. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, at St. John?s Lutheran Church with Reverend Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be at Hay Creek Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Dean and Paul Bacon, Beth Gaedy, Sandra and Sheryl Trittin, Heidi Gaedy, Stephanie and Maggie Voth, Chris Clements and Chris and Kevin Hannon. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m Tuesday, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to donor?s choice.
