Annard John Kohn, 92, of Red Wing, died Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Red Wing Health Center. He was born August 13, 1913 to John C. and Dora (Langhans) Kohn in Hay Creek Township. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Red Wing, and was also married to his wife, Eleanor Oelkers, there on October 12, 1939. He had been active in the church as a council member for 15 years and had served as an usher and funeral usher in later years. He farmed in Hay Creek for 9 years and then worked at Fleischmann Malting Company for 27 years, retiring in 1976. Eleanor died November 5, 2005. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He is survived by two sons, David (Shirley) Kohn of Maple Valley, Washington and Dale (Beverly) Kohn of Red Wing; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Frances Diercks of Waterloo, Iowa and Marge (Emmery) Liebeg of Red Wing and one brother, Vernon (Dorothy) Kohn of Red Wing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, an infant sister, Ruth and one brother, Marvin Kohn. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 9 at St. John?s Lutheran Church with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lonn, Michael, Steven, Scott, Kenneth and Bruce Kohn. Honoary pallbearers will be Keith Diercks, Christine, Dennis, Jerry and Richard Kohn and Lyle Finstuen. Visitation will be 5-7p.m. Wednesday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church.
