Anna Margaret Manore, age 81, of Red Wing, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Fairview Seminary Home. She was born on September 13, 1926, in Eau Galle, Wisconsin, to Matthew and Bertha (Siepel) Schober. She was a graduate of Durand High School and worked as a clerk at a grocery store in Eau Galle. On July 3, 1946, she married Max Manore in Eau Galle and after he was discharged from military services in 1947, they moved to Red Wing. She was a painter for Red Wing Pottery and while raising her children, she was a childcare provider. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and baking. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph, the Redmen Club and Leo c. Peterson American Legion Post 54 Auxiliary.
Survivors include six children, Gloria (Michael) Dingley of Sun City West, Arizona, Gail (Wayne) Irvin of Red Wing, Gwen (Earl Hipp) Barker of Minneapolis, Mark (Denise) Manore of Plain City, Utah, Rodney Manore of Solon Springs, Wisconsin, and Gay Larson of Red Wing; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Rosella Plemon of St. Paul, Evelyn Fischer of Rock Elm, Wisconsin, and Lorella Marano of Circle Pines; one brother, Anthony Schober of St. Paul; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 26, 1999; and seven siblings.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas Kommers officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 ? 7 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the time of services Saturday at the church. Memorials are preferred.
