Ann Tincher

March 4, 1957 — March 5, 2009

Ann Elizabeth Tincher, 52, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly Thursday,
March 5, 2009, at her home. She was born March 4, 1957 in St. Paul to
Robert and Betty (Wolff) Thompson. She was a 1975 graduate of South
St. Paul High School and graduated from the University of Minnesota
with a Bachelor of Science degree. Following school she worked as a
dental hygienist in Zurich, Switzerland for three years then traveled
extensively through Europe, Asia, and the Pacific before returning to
Minnesota. She then continued her studies at the University of
Minnesota and was a sales rep for a dental supply company. On July 27,
1991, she married David Tincher at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing.
She taught for two years in the dental hygienist program at the U of
MN and volunteered extensively in the Red Wing schools. She enjoyed
feeding and watching birds and volunteered for the Eagle Watch project
at Colvill Park. She was a beekeeper, a soapmaker and a gardener.
She liked to read and belonged to a book group. She was a member of a
"birthday club" in Hay Creek Township and was a member of United
Lutheran Church. She was devoted to her family and spent much of her
time driving her sons to their many activities. On the evening before
she passed away in the night, she celebrated her birthday with her
family.

She is survived by her husband, David of Red Wing; two sons, Tom and
John, both at home; her mother, Betty Thompson of South St. Paul; two
brothers, Bruce (Cindy) Thompson of Minneapolis and Peder (Judy)
Thompson of South St. Paul; her father-in-law and mother in-law, Lloyd
and Patricia Tincher of Napa, California and nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her father Robert in 2000.

Memorial service will be 11 a. m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at United
Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Timm officiating. Visitation will
be 4 p.m. to 8 p. m. Monday, March 9, 2009 at United Lutheran Church and
for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred
to the Environmental Learning Center or donor's choice. Funeral
arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn
