Angelia F. Poncelet age 93 of Bellechester died on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Lake City Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester with Father Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2009 from 4:00 � 7:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester and on Tuesday one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Angelia Frances Kohn was born on October 10, 1915 in Hammond, MN to Mathias and Mary Magdalena (nee Hofschulte) Kohn. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On August 8, 1933 she married Matthew N. Poncelet in Hammond, MN. They farmed in the Bellechester area until retiring in 1978.
After retiring they moved into Bellechester. Matt died on July 20, 1991. Angelia continued to live in Bellechester until moving to the Lake City Nursing Home in November of 2003. Angelia enjoyed gardening; especially flower gardening, fishing, playing cards and bingo, collecting antiques, going to auctions, quilting, and rock collecting. Angelia was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Altar Society. Angelia is survived by two daughters, Betty Cronin of Lake City and Marge (Gervase) Majerus of Bellechester; three sons, Fritz (Rose) Poncelet of Mazeppa, Nick (Jeannette) Poncelet of Lake City and Dennis (Pam) Poncelet of Mazeppa; daughter-in-law, Beverly Poncelet of Mazeppa; thirty five grandchildren; eighty one great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren, two foster sons, Harry (Jane) Roberts of Pine Island and Dave (Jean) Sackette of Duluth; three foster grandchildren; three foster great-grandchildren; four sisters, Olivia (Gene) Funk of Zumbro Falls, Mary Ann Dankers of Lake City, Anna Mae Darcy of Mazeppa and Alvina (Harry) Tiedeman of Lake City; one brother, Joe Kohn of Zumbro Falls. Angelia was preceded in death by her husband, Matt, son, James, three grandsons, Ted Poncelet, Al Majerus, and Edward Cronin, one brother, Arnold Kohn and three sisters, Laura Befort, Rose Jarrett and Geraldine Kohn.
