Ane Mae Novek

Ane Mae Novek, 86, of Red Wing, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Deer Crest. She was born on May 31, 1929 in Red Wing to Thomas and Thora (Nielsen) Christensen. She attended school in Red Wing and on April 27, 1947 she married James Novek. To this union five children were born and Ane Mae was a homemaker. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and participated in the Girl Scout organizations for many years. She enjoyed everything outdoors especially picnics, camping and fishing.

Survivors include her husband, James of Red Wing; three sons, Alan (Cathleen) Novek, Rex (Barb) Novek and Barry (Connie) Novek all of Red Wing; two daughters, Wanda Novek of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Sandy (Mike) Zimmermann of Red Wing; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Bakalar of Minneapolis; one sister-in-law, Mary Christensen of Red Wing and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leon Christensen and one sister Mildred Johnson-Huddleston.

Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Justin Boeding officiating.
