Amanda N. Lexvold, age 98, of Burnsville, formerly of Zumbrota, died on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Augustana Health Care Center in Apple Valley. She was born on February 5, 1915, in Roscoe Township, Goodhue County, to Anton and Mary (Erickson) Berg. Amanda grew up near Pine Island and attended Bringles School in Roscoe Township until the 8th grade. On November 27, 1935 she married Clarence Lexvold at United Lutheran Parsonage in Zumbrota. The couple farmed and painted together in the Zumbrota area. Amanda enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, painting, and woodworking. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, and pets. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, and also attending the Berg family reunions. She was an active member of Lands Lutheran Church and also at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville.
Amanda is survived by her children, Germanie (Leo) Conzemius of Hastings, Carole (Ronald) Abrahamson of Burnsville, Donald (Cathy) Lexvold of Elk Mound, WI, Mary (Bob) Stroud of Knoxville, TN, and Thomas Lexvold of Zumbrota; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Amanda was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence who died on January 18, 2002; sister, Alma Heitkamp; brothers, Iver, Carl, Albert, and Olaf Berg.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Lands Lutheran Church with Pastor David Krinke officiating. Burial will be in Lands Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Lands Lutheran Church.
