Alvin D. Hinck age 89 of Lake City passed away November 10, 2008 at St. Brigid at High Park in Red Wing.

Alvin was born January 26, 1919 in Mount Pleasant Township, in Wabasha County to John & Anna (Fitschen) Hinck. Alvin served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 during WWII. After he was discharged he returned to the Mount Pleasant Township area. He married Elaine Bartels September 15, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Hay Creek. They farmed in Mount Pleasant Township until 1977 he had to retire due to poor health. Elaine passed away February 16, 2003. He was a Life member of St. Peter's Belvidere Lutheran Church, and the AM Vets. He enjoyed playing cards and farming.

Alvin is survived by a son, John of Lake City, two daughters, Kathleen (Dennis Jr.) Cordes of Red Wing, Beverly (Clifford) Koll of Red Wing; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a brother, Alfred (Mary Ann) Hinck of Lake City; a sister, Marie Tomforde of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister Elsie Hinck.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at St. Peter's Belvidere Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bruce Stam officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
