Alona Manthei

Allona F. Manthei age 107 of Redwood Falls, MN formerly of Lake City died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Center in Redwood Falls.

Allona was born December 31, 1899 in Goodhue Township in Goodhue County to Henry & Mary (Mueller) Albers. She grew up on the family farm. She attended Rural School in Goodhue County. Allona married Rheinhardt Manthei September 22, 1920 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. They farmed in Chester Township after they were married. Rheinhardt died February 6, 1925. After her husbands death she moved to Lake City where She worked doing house work for families in Lake City. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City and the church Ladies Aid. Allona enjoyed visiting shut ins and bring them flowers. Allona also taught Sunday school for many years.

Allona is survived by one daughter, Adelaide Moonier of Redwood Falls, MN; one sister, Cornelia Wittlief of Plainview; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son in-law Richard Moonier; two brothers, Bill Albers, Henry Albers; three sisters, Louise Windhorst, Hulda Prigge, Mamie Gruhlke.

Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Rev. Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City.
