Alice Marie Staiger, 79, of Red Wing, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Fairview Red Wing Seminary Home. She was born November 9, 1929 in Porcupine Valley, Wisconsin to Jerry and Lena (Poquette) Brunette and graduated from high school there. She married Harold Staiger in August of 1949 and they lived in Red Wing. She had worked at Red Wing Shoe Company and was a member of the Church of St. Joseph. Harold died April 15, 2003.
She is survived by 3 children, Mikel Staiger of Denver. CO., Mitchell Staiger of Eau Claire, WI and Dixie (John) Graupman of Eden Prairie, MN; 2 grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Graupman, and 2 sisters, Geraldine (Arlin) Keys of White Bear Lake, MN and Beatrice ("Putter") Bauer of Durand, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; a son, Steven; 4 sisters, Ruth DeLong, Margaret Erwin, Ethyl Rageth and Jean Hurlbut and an infant brother, Mitchell Brunette.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Church of St. Joseph with Dar Reeck officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church
