Alice Elizabeth Schoeder, age 88, of Red Wing, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, at her home. She was born on November 29, 1918, in River Falls, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Spiedel) Fischer. She attended schools in the River Falls area. She married Gilbert Hanson on April 18, 1934, and they farmed near Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, for many years. He died on July 17, 1959. On January 12, 1962, she married Joseph Schoeder and they moved to Lakeside, California where she worked in the house cleaning business. They moved back to Arkansaw, Wisconsin in 1973. Joseph died on June 3, 1988. Alice then lived in Menomonie, Downsville and Lake City, prior to moving to Red Wing in 2006. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Durand, and enjoyed cooking, baking and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include four children, Irene (Byron) Wohlers of Lake City, Minnesota, Carol (Butch) Litscher of Fountain City, Wisconsin, Jerry (Edwina) Hanson of Augusta, Wisconsin, and Vikki (Roger) Braker of Menomonie; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Hugh Andrews of Durand, Wisconsin; one sister, Ruth Thompson of Shell Lake, Wisconsin; three brothers, Floyd Fischer of River Falls, Walter (Alice) Fischer of Red Wing and Emil (Marion) Fischer of St. Paul; nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husbands; five brothers; two grandsons, Ken Adams and Aaron Litscher; and one great-granddaughter, Jackie Lane.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Maiden Rock with Reverend Dan Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Maiden Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 ? 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the time of services Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be Christopher, Anthony and Brian Wempner, Alex Wohlers, Brady Adams and Ethan Rybarczyk.
