Alice Ann Nelson

Alice Ann Nelson, 78, of Red Wing, died on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Red Wing Health Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Duluth on August 3, 1940 to Einar and Ellen (Johnson) Abrahamson. She graduated from Clover Valley High School in 1958. She attended nursing school at St. Luke's Hospital and graduated in 1961. On September 22, 1962 Alice was united in marriage to Ralph Nelson in Duluth. The two moved to Red Wing in 1964 and Alice began working at St. John's Hospital. Alice enjoyed music, playing cards, cribbage, boggle, word games, gardening, and her dogs, Buster and Tinker.

Alice is survived by her husband Ralph; son, Eric (Gina) Nelson; daughters, Ellen Snoeyenbos and Amy (George) Armbruster; sister, Jeanie (Rodger) Winter; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister Mary Lou.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Tristan English presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
