Alice Laidlaw, 85, of Frontenac, Minnesota passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at The Bluffs of Lake City. She was born on November 23, 1932 in Minneapolis to Nicholas & Tillie (Smude) Kuka.
Alice attended high school in North High in Minneapolis. After graduating, Alice married William Laidlaw on June 16, 1956 in Minneapolis, and they made their home in the Twin Cities area. After retiring, they moved to Frontenac. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic church in Lake City. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Bittersweet Garden Club. Alice was an avid gardener and artist.
Alice is survived by her three sons, Curt (Sandy) of Andover, Minnesota, Scott (Regina) of Champlin, Minnesota, Thomas (Lenora) of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Matt, Carly, Kevin, Brian, Alex, Adam; sister-in-law Patricia Laidlaw of Red Wing and special friend Virginia Oliver. She is preceded in death by her husband William and a sister, Sylvia Willard.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and The Bluffs of Lake City for the wonderful care that was given to our mother.
A Memorial Service will be Tuesday June 19th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be at Frontenac Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday June 18th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church or Florence Township.
