A memorial service for Alice Fox will be held Thursday March 27th at 2:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. The Reverend Scott Jorgenson will officiate. Ms. Fox, 82, of Rochester died Monday March 24, 2014 at Cottagewood in Rochester.
Alice Lorrain Chevalier was born March 15, 1932 in Pope County near Benson. Raised on the family farm there, she moved to Rochester at the age of 14 and was graduated from Lourdes High School. During her high school years she worked at Saint Marys Hospital. She lived in Tempe, Arizona in the late 1950s and returned to Minnesota, a farm near Saint Charles, in the 1960s and soon moved to Rochester. In 1981 she again moved to Arizona until 2003, at which time she returned to Rochester.
A devout Christian, Alice was affiliated with Rochester Covenant Church. She loved to travel and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Neil) Jensen of Rochester, and Deborah Reetz of Woodbury; three grandchildren, Shanda, Angie, and Michelle; several great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Judith (William) Ashenbach, Doris DeYoung, and Gladys Matheisen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Alva (nee Bolinger) Chevalier; and her other brothers and sisters.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Online tributes are being welcomed and may be created at this website.
