Alice Christenson

Alice Irene Christenson, age 90 , of Red Wing, died Sunday, January 29, 2006, at Red Wing Health Center. She was born September 6, 1915, in Burnside Township, to Christian and Albertina (Mattson) Christenson. She was a 1933 graduate of Red Wing Central High School and received her Registered Nursing degree from St. Mary?s School of Nursing in Rochester. She lived in Long Beach, California, where she worked in a private practice medical office. She moved back to Red Wing in the 1990?s. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed nature, astronomy and picnics. Survivors include her sister, Hazel Christenson of Red Wing; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Clifford, Edward, Ernest, George and Sidney Christenson; sisters Elfie , Mabel and Mabel V Christenson. Funeral will be 11:30 AM Thursday at First Lutheran Church with Reverend Carroll Marohl officiating. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service Thursday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church. Pallbearers will be Donald, Paul and Thomas Christenson, Nancy Napson and Janet Withers. Mahn Family Funeral Homes, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel , is handling arrangements.
