Alan Scott Ottman, 53, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his home. He was born September 13, 1963 in Red Wing to Gary and Beatrice (Vieths) Ottman. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1982. He went on to work construction and then at Jostens before attending the Red Wing Technical College where he earned a degree in nursing. He worked at Hi-Park Care Center and most recently at Hiawatha Home Health Care. For more than 25 years he was a volunteer fire fighter with the Red Wing Fire Department. Alan was a past president of the Fire Relief and in his younger years he participated in the Environmental Learning Center. Alan was a dog lover who enjoyed farming and traveling to Saskatchewan where he would hunt and fish.
He is survived by his significant other, Robyn Lemmerhirt of Red Wing; parents, Gary and Beatrice of Red Wing; and one brother, Steve (Lisa) Ottman of Red Wing. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and brother, Dale in 2006.
A visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
