A private memorial service at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel, will be held for Adrian Frenzen, a longtime resident of Stewartville. Burial, at a later date, will be at Lanesboro Cemetery. Mr. Frenzen, 80, died Saturday January 23, 2010 at the Stewartville Care Center.
Adrian Delmar Frenzen was born July 31, 1929 in Windom, Minnesota. Raised in Windom, he enjoyed participating in football and basketball while attending school there. He married Marion Olson on January 1, 1948 in Lanesboro, where the couple lived before moving to the Twin Cities. They moved to Stewartville in 1968. Mr. Frenzen was an over the road truck driver, working for various companies, and for a time he owned his own truck. He also worked as a truck mechanic for 15 years with GMC in the Twin Cities. He enjoyed bible study, restoring cars, and fishing and camping with his sons.
He is survived by his daughters, Darris Doerr of Burnsville, Mary Ann Bamlet and her husband Gene of Hayfield, and Jodie Marie Appel of Eyota; sons, Darren of Sacramento, California, Timothy of Owatonna, and Philip of Stewartville; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Serena Hensch and Donna Lokken, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Helen (Rev. Keith) Pursell of Mankato; and a brother, Floyd of Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 19, 2009; a son, Kevin Lee Frenzen; and 2 brothers.
