Adeline A. "Addy" Kramer, age 84, of Pine Island died on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at her residence in Pine Island. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island with Pastor Kip Groettum and Pastor John Torris Lohre co-officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Adeline Adele Naatz was born on March 4, 1929 in Kasson, MN to Harry and Adele (nee Ludwig) Naatz. Addy grew up on a dairy farm in Kasson, attended Kasson School and graduated from Kasson High School in 1947. Addy worked for two and a half years as a receptionist/bookkeeper for Peoples Natural Gas Co. in Kasson. On February 14, 1948 she married Darroll Kramer at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kasson. They lived on a dairy farm near Kasson for ten years. In 1958 they purchased a farm near Pine Island and together they farmed until 1991 when they retired. In 1992 Addy started working as a wing assistant at the Pine Haven Care Center and worked there for twelve years. On November 1, 2012, Addy moved to Evergreen Place Assisted Living in Pine Island and rented the farm house to her granddaughter Jenna, full filling one of Addy's longtime dreams. For forty five years, Addy decorated cakes for weddings, graduations, birthdays and other special events. Addy was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island and the Cancer Survival Group, serving as a supportive member of the group. Addy was a forty one year survivor of breast cancer. Addy enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, traveling on bus tours, watching the birds at her feeders and going to the casinos. Addy is survived by her children, Gary (Carol) Kramer, Glenda (Jeff) Dohrmann, Gerri (Joe) Heimberg and Ken (Vicky) Kramer, all of Pine Island; fifteen grandchildren; twenty seven and a half great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry (Nancy) Naatz of Mantorville and Kenneth (Marie) Naatz of Hobbs, NM; half-brother, Harold (Jan) Naatz of Austin and three half-sisters. Addy loved her family dearly. Addy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Darroll; two infant daughters, Sandra and Mary; her parents, Adele and Harry; and sister and brother-in-law, Caroline and Melvin Hanson. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Saint Paul Lutheran Church or Seasons Hospice.
