Stephanie Jean Denzer

Stephanie Jean Denzer, nee Dettmer, 54, of Lake City, passed away March 3, 2012 at her home. She was born December 31, 1957 in Zumbrota to Clarence and Jean (Christensen) Dettmer. She grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1976. After high school Stephanie went to barber school and graduated the following year. After school she began working in Red Wing, where she worked at The Barbers and Shear Perfection. For the past decade, Steph worked from home. She married Michael Hoeft in 1979 and later divorced. In 2003 she married Joseph Denzer. Stephanie was a avid sports fan, especially the ones her sons were participating in, she never missed a game and she was always there to help with the spaghetti dinners before the football games. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and making salsa and pickles with the vegetables from her garden. She also loved spending time visiting, and entertaining friends and family. Steph was a true Minnesotan and loved watching both the Vikings and Twins.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Denzer of Lake City; three sons, Brady Hoeft of Washington D.C. area, Mitchell Hoeft of Minneapolis, Spencer Hoeft of Lake City; mother, Jean Dettmer of Lake City; brother, Rick (Jane) Dettmer of Lake City; sisters, Kim Dettmer of St. Paul, Cheryl (Paul Stensland) Dettmer of Lino Lakes; two nieces and one nephew; and her two beloved dogs, Teddy and Hunter.
She is preceded in death by her father Clarence.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Bethany Lutheran Church with Reverend Scott Fiege officiating. Burial will take place in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
